Hurricane Florence

South Carolina's motto is Dum Spiro, Spero - While I breathe, I hope. While in captivity on the Isle of Wight in 1648, King Charles I wrote Dum Spiro, Spero in his copy of Shakespeare's Second Folio.

For those who now live in the states that bear his name of Carolina and are in the path of Hurricane Florence, we lift our prayers. While we breathe, we hope.

From the 1928 Book of Common Prayer:

O GOD, merciful and compassionate, who art ever ready to hear the prayers of those who put their trust in thee; Graciously hearken to us who call upon thee, and grant us thy help in this our need; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

While we don't anticipate any disruption in our Sunday schedule, we will announce any alterations in an email and on our Facebook page.
