serve—ECW Yard Sale Features ‘Select Treasures’
The Episcopal Church Women at St. Tim’s will hold an indoor yard sale this Saturday, February 20, 7 a.m.-noon in Drake Hall. The women will be accepting donations on Friday, February 19, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. only. All types of items including clothes will be accepted but no mattresses, large appliances and please do not bring anything ripped, stained or broken. New this year will be a room featuring “Select Treasures”—collectible items that will feature a slightly higher-than-yard-sale price and will not be marked down. The other yard sale items will be marked half price at 11 a.m. Anything not sold at the yard sale will be donated to the Vietnam Veterans of America. Contact Susan Faust (759-7229).

learn—Meeting for Parents of 8th Graders and Older Youth
All parents of 8th graders and older youth are invited to meet with Director of Youth Ministries Bobby Steinhauser this Sunday, February 21 at noon in the church to receive information about this year’s Youth Confirmation Class. serve—Order Lilies for Easter
Order forms for purchasing Easter lilies for decorating the Easter and Flowering Sunday services at St. Tim’s are available in the kiosk in Drake Hall, in the Gribbin Lobby and online by clicking here. serve—Would You Like a New St. Tim’s T-Shirt?
New St. Timothy’s T-shirts (modeled above by Adrienne Beauchamp) are available for purchase. The short-sleeve shirts cost $8 in adult medium to 2X-large sizes and are currently available through Parish Administrator Cathy Culver. worship—Ash Wednesday Services at Noon & 6:30 p.m.
The Ash Wednesday services will be February 17 at Noon and 6:30 p.m. in the church. Prior to the 6:30 p.m. service, a light dinner of soup will be served at 5:45 p.m. in Drake Hall. Regular Wednesday classes will be postponed that day but will resume the following Wednesday on February 24.
worship—Wednesday Holy Eucharist with Healing Prayer
The Wednesday Holy Eucharist with Healing Prayer Service meets at NOON each Wednesday in the chapel to allow anyone working the opportunity to worship during his or her lunch hour. Please make plans to attend.

learn—New Women’s Weekday Bible Study
Hey Ladies, what are you thinking about giving up for Lent? Chocolate? People magazine? Laundry? Why not consider adding something instead? Join a new Weekday Women's Bible Study on Mondays (February 22-March 29), 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the ECW Hall under the Chapel. Join ua as we clear spaces in our hearts and minds so that God may fill us anew in this Lenten season. The study will be on “A Clearing Season: Reflections for Lent” by Sarah Parsons. learn—Adult Spiritual Growth Classes
Adults have a several choices for Sunday School at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings. A class studying Max Lucado’s “Eye of the Storm” meets in room D1 (contact Gerry Link, 602-2587) while a class for women, meeting in ECW Hall, discusses the Book of Acts (contact Lea Thullbery, lea@sttimothys.ws). Church Chat meets in Drake Hall at 9:30 a.m. for a lively, interactive study of the weekly lectionary Gospel reading (contact Beth Morphis, 765-5262). On Wednesdays, adults can attend Bible study in ECW Hall at 8:15 a.m. or in Drake Hall at 6:30 p.m., both led by Father Steve (765-0294).

connect—Women’s Retreat Rescheduled
The 2010 Women's Retreat has been rescheduled for April 23-25, 2010 and registration is open. For those women who have already registered and plan on attending, you don't need to do anything. For those women who have not previously registered, but would like to attend, please go online to register, or pick up a registration form outside Drake Hall. A $100 deposit is payable by March 7; the balance is payable on March 28. Single rooms are $245; double rooms are $180. The next meeting of the St. Tim’s Book Club will be Sunday, February 28 at noon in ECW Hall. Discussion will be on “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer. Everyone is invited to enjoy a great home-cooked, hot breakfast served each Sunday, 8:45-9:15 a.m. in Drake Hall. For a $4 donation, you get fellowship with your church family in a spiritually uplifting environment! Also everyone is invited to attend the Wednesday Fellowship meal served each Wednesday, 5:45-6:30 p.m. in Drake Hall. For a $6 adult and $3 child donation, you will receive a varied meal including an entrée with vegetables, salad and dessert. Join other adults for “Devout Stout” at Finnigan’s Wake Pub and Kitchen at 620 N. serve—Sign-up to Help Samaritan Ministries
Samaritan Ministries is a local agency downtown that serves the needs of the homeless in the Winston-Salem area. St. Tim’s is currently recruiting four groups of six people to serve dinner and spend the night at Samaritan Inn on March 29, 30 and 31. Arrival time at Samaritan Inn is 6:15 PM. We will help serve dinner and clean up. Following that we attend a devotion time with the residents and shortly after that it is lights out. Then, in teams of two, you take turns watching the security cameras in two hour shifts. At 6:00 AM we help folks check out, serve breakfast, clean up and then we are out of there by 7:30 AM. Safe, clean and separate sleeping quarters are provided for the volunteers. It is a wonderful and rewarding way to serve the homeless in our area. This is open to men and women ages 17 and older. serve—Youth Fund-raiser Kicked-off
On Sunday, February 7 the youth of St. Timothy’s began a “Filler-up for Navajo” fund-raiser by passing out bottles of SoBe® Lifewater generously donated by Pepsi to the congregation following the services. Each recipient has been asked to empty the bottle, wash it out and return it filled with a monetary donation by March 7. All money received will benefit the youth summer mission trip to Navajo Land. Save the date for the 7th Annual Day of Caring at St. Timothy’s to be held Saturday, April 10, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Breakfast will be served at 7:45 a.m. before breaking out in teams to work in the community. CHILDREN’S NEWS ...
LEARN—This Sunday, February 21, the preschoolers and primary school-aged children gather at 9:15 a.m. in the Chapel for music before dismissing to classrooms for Bible lessons. At 10:15 a.m. the preschool children move to room C2 for Preschool Worship and the primary children attend Children’s Chapel in the chapel. The primary children enter church at the 10:30 a.m. offertory to join their parents. Preschool children enter to meet their parents in the pews at the 10:30 a.m. communion hymns. LEARN—Each Wednesday night (except for February 17) the children have Bible study with the Way of the Child program for K-2nd grades meeting at 5:15-6 p.m. in room C-2. Families will eat dinner together, 6-6:30 p.m. then the 3rd-5th graders have their Way of the Child class at 6:30-7:15 p.m. in room C-2 and the preschoolers have Bible in Action in room C-3, 6:30-7:15 p.m. Contact Pam Carter (pam@sttimothys.ws).

CONNECT—Two new youth retreat opportunities are available for the youth. The youth in 7th-9th grades have the opportunity to attend the New Beginnings retreat in Georgia the weekend of February 26-28. The youth in 9th-12th grades may attend the Happening Retreat at the Summit on the weekend of March 19-21. LEARN—Sunday School for all youth in grades 6th-12th meets on the Drake Hall stage at 9:15 a.m. for biblical discussion relating to everyday topics.
LEARN—The youth in 6th-12th grades are invited to meet each Wednesday (except for February 17) in room D-1 in Drake at 6:30-7:30 p.m. for discussion based on the Bible’s lectionary selections.
LEARN—EYC for the youth in 6th-12th grades this Sunday, February 21 will meet together at 5:30 p.m. in Drake Hall for supper then an activity.
WORSHIP—All high school youth are invited to meet on Fridays, 7:30-8 a.m. for Prayer Breakfast. Devotion begins at 7:55 a.m. The February location will be Biscuitville on Robinhood Road near Peacehaven Road. If school is canceled for the day, so is the breakfast.
